Meet the Mission Leadership Team
Our Host
Sister Rose Wangui grew up in the village of Lare, Kenya, attending high school and working with the Sisters of Mercy at the Mercy hospital in the Rift Valley. Her vision and faith led her to create The Mercy Project – a multi-phased effort that includes building a water well, health clinic, and a secondary school for girls.
Our Chaplain
Fr. Joseph Moschetto grew up in Northern Virginia, attending Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church in Potomac Falls. He is a graduate of Seton High school, and was ordained a priest in 2020. He currently serves as parochial vicar at St. Luke Catholic Church in McLean. CBC is excited to have him join us.
Our Team Leader
Jeff Lungren is a veteran CBC missionary and team lead, participating in his first mission trip to Piura, Peru with CBC in 2017. He has led two CBC mission trips with Bishop O’Connell High School to Piura and is active in his local community. He is looking forward to leading this mission team in Kenya. Veteran CBC missionary Gloria Solorzano will be serving as co-leader for the trip.

WHAT TO EXPECT
Together with a CBC team leader and chaplain, we will be partnering with the Mother of Mercy Girls’ School in Lare, Kenya on a 12-day in-person mission trip.
Daily Sacred Scripture with personalized reflections
Weekly Inspiration and team sharing
Two 1/2 day mission retreats to prepare spiritually, catechetically and practically
1/2 day participation in local service project serving the poor
Working on a building project that is still to be determined
Interact daily with the school girls in-between classes and in the evenings
Fun and games on the field with the girls during breaks
Celebrate the sacraments with the girls and as a team with Fr. Moschetto
